The Clash of Spear and Shield: When ANE Meets ED-AN
Recently, artificial noise elimination (ANE) technology has emerged as a countermeasure employed by eavesdroppers (Eve) to mitigate the impact of artificial noise (AN). However, conventional ANE techniques are primarily designed for AN modeled as white Gaussian noise (WGN), and their efficacy against other types of AN remains uncertain. This paper examines the performance of ANE when applied to Euclidean distance optimized AN (ED-AN), a specific form of colored AN. Using the artificial-noise-to-signal ratio (ANSR) as the evaluation metric, we compare the effectiveness of ANE against ED-AN with that against traditional AN. Simulation results indicate that while ANE remains effective against ED-AN, it exhibits a higher residual noise power compared to conventional AN.
