Remote sensing image tiling and loading based on the Cesium visualization engine

Loading TIF files into the Cesium visualization engine provides a clearer and more intuitive view of the distribution, geographic location, and detailed features of remote sensing imagery, thereby facilitating remote sensing data analysis. However, directly loading TIF files in Cesium often leads to significant performance issues, such as lag and poor responsiveness, which negatively affect the user experience. Although it is possible to load in stages by building a tile pyramid, Cesium is only a visualization engine and does not have the ability to slice remote sensing images. This study designed a function that uses the Cesium visualization engine as the front end, calls a self-made slicing algorithm through a local server to produce tiles, and the algorithm processing results are captured by the local server, and finally loaded and presented on the Cesium visualization engine, thereby solving the problem that the Cesium visualization engine cannot quickly load remote sensing images. Compared with the professional image processing software GISBox, the slicing algorithm of this method has a good slicing effect and a faster slicing speed, which is of great significance for realizing the complete loading of remote sensing images on the 3D Earth Engine.
