Cobalt-Doped Manganese Dioxide Nanowires as a High-Performance Cathode for Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries
Manganese dioxide (MnO2) material has become a representative cathode material for aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) owing to its high energy density and polycrystalline structure. However, their practical applications are limited by their manganese dissolution and low electronic conductivity in the cycle process. In this work, Co2+ are introduced into β-MnO2 structures through a one-step hydrothermal approach. The assembled Zn//MnO2-2Co battery achieves 453.6 mA h g–1 at 0.1 A g–1 and retains 95% capacity after 1000 times cycling. Furthermore, the cells possess an energy density of 262 W h kg–1 at a power density of 100 W kg–1. A practice is presented in this work for enhancing the electrochemical performance of β-MnO2 electrodes.
