Typification of the Linnaean name Justicia ecbolium , a synonym of Ecbolium ligustrinum (Acanthaceae)

Abstract The current lectotype of Justicia ecbolium , an illustration published by Burman, is overturned due to the existence of extant specimens that constitute original material. Extant specimens have priority over illustrations for the purpose of lectotypification, and the name is lectotypified using a specimen at BM that was sent to Linnaeus by Paul Hermann.
