Right-peripheral Reemphasis on Attitude on Interaction
Right-peripheral reemphasis on attitude refersto sentences such as “Ni you bing ba ni” (你有病吧你)and “You zen me le you”(又怎麽了又).Thispaperexplores the interactive features and functions of right-peripheral reemphasis on attitude, anddiscusses their conventionalization. The study shows that the phenomenon of right-peripheral reemphasis on attitude occurs in a complete intonation contour. The resetting part of syllables tends to be “short”, the information tends to be “small”,and the syntactic form tends to be “flexible” in interaction. In the conversational sequences, the turn is often compressed, and latch with the next one. Its preferred discourse position is the starting position of the response turn, often with quoting. There are two interactive functions of Right-peripheral reemphasis onattitudeincluding emotion state regulation and speech act management. The necessary conditions for its conventionalization are high frequency of use, wide scope of vocabulary application, and the underlying function must be retained.
