Tel Yavne, Area R3 – 2022–2023

From April 2022 until December 2023, salvage excavations were conducted southwest of Tel Yavne, in Area R3 (Permit No. A-8999; map ref. 176150/640990; Fig. 1). The excavations, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Israel Land Authority, were directed by P. Betzer and D. Varga, with the assistance of I. Milevski abd Y. Abadi-Reiss ( counselling ), A. Davidesko and G. Cecconi (area supervision), T. Uriel (administration), A. Peretz and D. Gazit (field photography), L. Perry Gal (archaeozoology), Y. Nagar and H. May (physical anthropology), Y. Shmidov, M. Kahan and N. Leitner (surveying, drafting and plans), N. Weiler and J. Marcus (geomorphology) and R. Golding-Meir (Middle Bronze Age II pottery analysis).
