Hippopotamus Optimization Algorithm‐Based Clustering Using Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Network
ABSTRACT The role of security and energy‐optimized routing in wireless sensor networks is to provide a reliable, secure, and energy‐optimized communication infrastructure while meeting the application's quality of service (QoS) requirements. Also, because sensor nodes only have a short battery life, energy economy is another important factor in WSNs. Energy‐optimized routing protocols can prolong network lifetime by minimizing the energy consumption of sensor nodes. Solving the sink mobility and energy‐optimized cluster head (CH) selection problem will contribute to the development of efficient WSNs with optimized energy utilization, improved data collection, enhanced network performance, and extended network lifetime. In this paper, we present Hippopotamus Optimization Algorithm‐based clustering and sink mobility in WSN (HOAM) that ensures secure and energy‐efficient data transmission among the sensor nodes. The Hippopotamus Optimization (HO) algorithm is used to select the CH among the cluster member nodes and optimize the sink mobility in WSN. The simulation analysis makes it clear that the suggested work does a better job than the most recent routing methods.
