PREDICTORS OF HOSPITAL COMPLICATIONS FOLLOWING AORTIC VALVE PROSTHESIS IN OBESE PATIENTS

Obesity is a global epidemic of the 21st century. Adipose tissue has pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic activity and leads to the development of endothelial dysfunction, resulting in cardiovascular disease (CVD). According to large international studies, obesity is a common comorbid condition in patients with aortic stenosis (AS). Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) remains the «gold» standard for the treatment of patients with severe AS; however, obesity patients represent a group at increased risk of postoperative hospital postoperative complications. Therefore, an important area in modern cardiology is the study of risk factors (RF) for complications after SAVR in patients with obesity, with the development of an individualized preoperative preparation.
