OPTIMIZATION OF THE CONDITIONS OF ACID HYDROLYSIS OF FLAVONOID GLYCOSIDES IN EXTRACTS OF VACCINIUM ULIGINOSUM L. LEAVES

Flavonoid compounds are a class of secondary metabolites with high antioxidant activity. They are synthesized in all parts of plants, and are most often found in the form of O- or C-glycosides, exercising protective functions. A significant number of different glycosides complicates the task of quantifying flavonoids in extracts by high-performance liquid chromatography. To simplify quantitative analysis, flavonoid glycosides are pre-hydrolyzed to the appropriate aglycones, however, optimal hydrolysis conditions must be selected. The extraction of phenolic glycosides from blueberry leaves (Vaccinium uliginosum L.) was carried out by ultrasound. The optimization of hydrolysis conditions included the selection of time and temperature parameters. The content of aglycones was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. The data obtained can be used for a more detailed study of the content of flavonoid glycosides in

Abstract

Flavonoid compounds are a class of secondary metabolites with high antioxidant activity. They are synthesized in all parts of plants, and are most often found in the form of O- or C-glycosides, exercising protective functions. A significant number of different glycosides complicates the task of quantifying flavonoids in extracts by high-performance liquid chromatography. The extraction of phenolic glycosides from blueberry leaves (Vaccinium uliginosum L.) was carried out by ultrasound. The optimization of hydrolysis conditions included the selection of time and temperature parameters. The content of aglycones was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography.
