RESOURCES OF THE ELEUTHEROCOCCUS SENTICOSUS IN THE RUSSIAN FAR EAST
Abstract The phytochemical composition, pharmacological action, useful properties of Eleutherococcus senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Maxim. - a valuable medicinal plant in the south of the Far East are given. Distribution, places of growth, root productivity, biological stocks and rules of collection of medicinal raw materials are specified. The root productivity of dense thickets of Eleutherococcus senticosus ranges from 550 to 1100 kg/ha (average 850 kg/ha) in raw mass or from 160 to 340 kg/ha (average 250 kg/ha) in air-dry mass; with projective cover from 40 to 70% (average 60%). The yield of air-dry raw material averages 30%. The average annual biological stock of root of Eleutherococcus senticosus in the Far East is estimated at least 660 thousand tons of raw mass or 200 thousand tons air-dry, in the lands of the production (economically accessible) fund it is 40 thousand tons of air-dry mass, and the average annual possible collection - 2,7 thousand tons. Of the total biological stock of raw materials, 110 thousand tons are concentrated in Primorskii Territory, 60 thousand tons in Khabarovsk Territory, 15 thousand tons in Sakhalin Region, 10 thousand tons in Jewish Autonomous Region and 5 thousand tons in Amur Region,
