INTRODUCTION OF HYPERICUM ANNULATUM MORIS IN THE CENTRAL BOTANICAL GARDEN OF THE NAS OF BELARUS

Abstract Hypericum annulatum Moris is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Hypericaceae family. It is widespread from Eastern Europe to East Africa. It is not found in nature in the Republic of Belarus. Recent studies have shown that the plant may contain monoterpenoids, benzophenone glycosides, xanthones, isocoumarin annulatomarin, parietin, beta-sitosterol, a possible anticancer compound - hyperatomarin, prenylated phloroglucinol. There is evidence that H. annulatum Moris compounds can slow the growth of human chronic myelogenous leukemia cells. The article presents the results of the introduction of H. annulatum Moris in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus. A description of the species is given. The main phenophases of its growth and development under conditions of the Central Botanical Garden are revealed. Studies have shown a high reproductive capacity of H. annulatum Moris. The species goes through a full development cycle and forms viable seeds.
