IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF TRITERPENE SAPONINS OF UNDERGROUND ORGANS OF GLYCYRRHIZA ECHINATA L.

The article presents the results of comparative qualitative and quantitative analysis of saponins of aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic extracts from underground organs of Glycyrrhiza echinata L. and Glycyrrhiza glabra L. growing in the Volgograd region. Their triterpene nature was determined by TLC analysis. By direct spectrophotometry, after reaction with concentrated sulfuric acid, the content of the sum of saponins in the raw material of G. glabra and G. echinata was determined. The sum of triterpene saponins in terms of oleanolic acid was carried out. A rather high content of saponins in the underground organs of G. echinata was registered. The content of saponins varied from 8.05% to 9.24%. In roots of G. glabra the sum of triterpene saponins in terms of oleanolic acid varied from 11.42% to 13.16%.
