IN VITRO CULTURE OF WHITE MULBERRY (MORUS ALBA) AND ITS IMMUNOMODULATORY PROPERTIES

In this study, microclones and callus tissue of white mulberry (Morus alba L.) were successfully obtained. The plant seeds underwent thorough preparation, including sterilization and cultivation in a specialized nutrient medium. After establishing microclones, callus culture was generated. To evaluate their immunomodulatory properties, two preparations were developed: a lysate derived from intact callus tissue and a decoction made from cloned mulberry shoots. These preparations were tested for their effects on the functional activity of blood leukocytes in white non-linear mice and healthy human volunteers. The results demonstrated that both the callus tissue lysate and the cloned plant leaf decoction possess immunomodulatory activity. This suggests that callus tissue could serve as a promising source for developing anti-inflammatory drugs, while the leaf decoction may hold potential as a biostimulant.
