EFFICIENCY OF DENTAL GELS WITH PHOTOCOMPONENTS IN TRAUMATIC INJURIES OF THE ORAL MUCOSA IN RATS

Traumatic damage to the oral mucosa is a common injury that can cause inflammation and infection. Dental gels with phytocomponents, due to their multicomponent composition, have a complex effect on trauma and have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, regenerative and antimicrobial effects. The aim of the study was to evaluate the wound-healing activity of dental gels with phytocomponents in case of injury to the oral mucosa of rats. In an experiment on rats, a scalpel was used to simulate a cut injury to the soft tissues of the oral mucosa. After injury, experimental gels were applied to the affected area for all animals: a gel containing licorice extract and chamomile extract; a gel containing licorice extract and turnip extract; a gel containing 0.5% hamazulene. The effectiveness of regeneration was assessed by indicators of angiogenesis and epitheliogenesis, which had the highest values in the group of animals using a gel with hamazulene, which indicates a positive effect on tissue regeneration. The lowest regeneration rates were observed in animals in the gel group with licorice and chamomile extracts.
