„A mecseki erdők csendje zendül...” - A Sólyom László-emlékút avatása
László Sólyom, who was born in Pécs, remained faithful throughout his life to his native region in the narrower sense. As a committed environmentalist, he took an active role in the civilian protests that successfully blocked the construction of a military radar station planned for Zengő, and, due to his deep attachment to the Mecsek, he also actively supported the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Kisújbánya, among other causes. In his honor, friends and colleagues inaugurated a memorial hiking trail named after him in the Eastern Mecsek. During the commemoration, they recalled László Sólyom's deep ties to his homeland, Pécs and the Mecsek, as well as his lifelong relationship with law and the arts, highlighting his close connection to his former mentor and role model, Gyula Eörsi.
