Topical Steroids: A Double-edged Sword
The wonder drug “steroid” is widely used all over the word for its beneficial effects in the wide variety of diseases. However, unjustified use of steroids is also prevalent and does harm rather than being beneficial, especially in the dermatological cases. The authors take this opportunity to report a case of cutaneous leishmaniasis, where the undue topical steroid use significantly exacerbated the lesion, which could have been easily avoided by careful examination and correct management.
