Democratização e inclusão escolar espaços e contextos de participação dos estudantes nas organizações escolares em Portugal

This article analyses how participatoryexperiences in and out of school are related to more inclusive pathways and democratic citizenship. Based on data from a national survey of 10th grade students (n = 241.341) administered in 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2017, the parƟcipatory experiences of young people in school and non-school contexts are analysed. The results show the persistence of inequalities associated with socio-economic origin and gender, exposing the limitations of spaces for parƟcipaƟon and questioning the democratising role of schools.
