Effect of Cow’s Milk Allergy on Vitamin K2 Levels in Children
This cross-sectional study aimed to verify whether children with cow’s milk allergy have low serum vitamin K2 levels. Ninety-one children aged 3 years or younger were divided into 2 groups: those with cow’s milk allergy (CMA) and a control group. Children with CMA had higher weigh-for-age Z scores and lower vitamin K2 levels compared to the control group. In the CMA group, levels of vitamin K2 were found to be correlated with gender, the number of food allergens, and the type of milk consumed. CMA allergy was associated with vitamin K2 deficiency in children in this study.
