A Novel Soft-Switching Multiport Resonant Converter for Auxiliary Loads in Electric Vehicle

A novel soft-switching Multi-Port Converter (MPC) utilizing dual sources with common ground provides a high voltage conversion ratio for Electric vehicle applications is proposed. To reduce voltage stresses across all semiconductors, maintain continuous output current, a new switched-ZQR (S-ZQR) converter is interfaced with the conventional buck configuration. The topology achieves low-stress characteristics, high efficiency, a wide range in voltage, and soft-switching conditions on the switches without adding any auxiliary circuit and achieves maximum efficiency of 93.67%. The configuration is developed and analyzed with a simple conventional controller using lower components to operate at ZCS at lowest switching losses compared to recently reported converters. The theoretical and comparative analysis are executed to validate the configuration performance using MATLAB/ Simulink in each mode under various operating conditions. A 150W hardware prototype was developed, built and experimental results were verified. DOI: 10.61416/ceai.v27i3.9255
