THz Multi-Frequency-Scanning-Beam Antenna Based on Copper Additive Manufacturing
A THz multi-frequency-scanning-beam antenna is proposed to achieve 2-D passive beam scanning capability. The antenna is composed of a Rotman lens beamforming network (BFN) and a spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) leaky-wave antenna (LWA) array. The orthogonal phase gradients from the Rotman lens BFN and LWA can achieve 2-D scanning beams. To increase the beam scanning range of LWA, SSPP is used to increase the dispersion characteristics of the waveguide. The simulated results show that the proposed antenna can achieve −30.0° to 27.3° frequency beam scanning by the LWA array, and ±25° by the Rotman BFN within the band of 300 to 370 GHz.
