Enhancing Customer Retention in Restaurants using Machine Learning Algorithm
We introduce a system within this study that aims to boost restaurant promotion and customer interaction to attract and retain customers. The system sends personalized SMS alerts for new products, promotions and offers based on each customer’s individual needs and shopping habits. We utilize the k-means method within effective customer segmentation. The algorithm categorizes customers into different groups based on their purchasing details, behavior and personal information. This type of customer segmentation improves the attainment and effectiveness of marketing by using targeted strategies that have the potential to attract each unique segment of customers. The system analyzes customer spend patterns and visit frequency through a series of data preprocessing steps, involving Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), feature scaling, and categorization of categorical data. Data visualization libraries, including heatmaps and boxplots, are employed for the detection of data patterns and trends that also allow for the optimization of the clustering algorithm. Suitable deployment of this framework is dependent on the use of common Python packages and libraries, including Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Jupyter Notebook, and the Anaconda package. Coupling the result of the clustering analysis with the SMS marketing system allows restaurants the potential to significantly enhance their sales performance, customer satisfaction, and enable improved customer loyalty. Future development, employing advanced clustering algorithms and the integration of real-time data processing capability, provides exciting prospects for future development. Such developments have the potential to further optimize marketing strategies and enable an even more dynamic and responsive customer experience.
