Real-Time Pressure Cooker Whistle Detection and Alert System
Using a pressure cooker requires careful tracking of the number of whistles to ensure that food is properly cooked. Manual counting can be inaccurate and hence, potentially leading to overcooked or undercooked meals. This research presents an automated whistle detection and alarm system that provides real-time notifications and keeps track of the whistles from the pressure cooker. In the proposed system, users can input a pre-alert count and a target whistle count. An LCD display shows the current whistle counts, while a microcontroller constantly monitors the whistle sounds. When the pre-alert whistle is detected, a loud buzzer alerts the user. Once the final whistle count is achieved, the system continues to sound the alert, and it automatically shuts off the stove such that avoiding the food overcooking. Additionally, the system features temperature and humidity sensing, gas leak detection, and flame monitoring to improve safety in the kitchen. The proposed solution offers a convenient and intelligent method for pressure cooking, minimizing manual intervention and risks linked with unattended cooking.
