A Synergistic Defense Framework for Cloud-based VM Security

VM security in contemporary cloud systems requires smart, flexible solutions that can understand sophisticated system behavior and detect it using minimal false positives. The traditional methods, such as signature-based systems, rule-based heuristics, and statistical anomaly detection, are rigid, offer insufficient generalization to novel threats, and have high false positive rates because they rely on fixed patterns and limited contextual modeling. In order to overcome such impediments, this paper presents a new intertwined defense structure that consists of GraphTectonic Mapper and the Pro-Fuzzy EventRelic Synthesizer Network (PF-ERSNet). In sharp contrast to traditional deep learning or clustering-based approaches, our system represents VM behavior as a temporal interaction graph and replaces the crisp logic with fuzzy logic that reasons on anomalous sequences and chains of causal events. Telemetry extracted from the ADFA-LD high-fidelity dataset of varied realistic VM attack behaviors under a controlled environment creates high-fidelity system telemetry, such as syscall traces, inter-process signals, file-system events, and socket interactions. This raw telemetry is sent to preprocessing through graph normalization, entropy-based noise filtering, and time window segmentation, thus giving enriched behavior graphs. Feeding such graphs into the GraphTectonic Mapper, anomalous substructures are detected with the help of dynamic topological measures. The derived abstracted graphs are, in turn, relayed to PF-ERSNet, which uses fuzzy temporal inference as well as probabilistic scoring to produce threat classification with exactness. The detailed analysis with the ADFA-LD dataset, built to simulate contemporary, low-footprint intrusion, revealed an accuracy of 99.91 percent detection rate and a false positive rate close to zero, with an average latency in mitigation of less than 200 milliseconds. The system design provides an effective, explainable, and adjustable architecture of VM threat detection and response to the new-generation cloud-native infrastructures.
