SmartRent-AI Driven Online House Rental Platform

Securing appropriate and suitable rental accommodations in cities is still a challenge, typically characterized by inefficiencies, security risks, and reliance on brokers. This article introduces SmartRent, an AI-enabled online rental house platform that aims to provide a smooth, transparent, and secure tenant experience. SmartRent integrates various cutting-edge technologies to address critical pain points: an NLP-based chatbot offers multilingual support 24/7; a machine learning-based hybrid recommendation engine offers behaviorally and preference-based property recommendations; and a fraud module applies anomaly detection technologies to minimize listing fraud. Dynamic pricing for rentals is also enabled by predictive analytics, and secure payments are enabled through two-factor authentication and blockchain-based smart contracts for trustless transactions. The usability and functionality of the platform were validated through testing with 200 participants (100 landlords and 100 tenants). It is indicated to achieve high search accuracy (92%), sufficient fraud detection capability (F1-score of 89%), and overall user satisfaction (89%). Scalability testing demonstrates good performance with high user loads, confirming the platform appropriate for real-world applications. SmartRent thus is an end-to-end, AI-driven solution simplifying trust, efficiency, and user experience within the residential rental space.
