Design and Implementation of an Ultra-wideband Highly Integrated T/R Module
To meet the requirements of solid-state active phased array radar systems for ultra-wideband and high integration, a four-channel dual-polarized T/R module working in the SC band is proposed. On the basis of miniaturization, the design of transmitting circuit, receiving circuit and beam steering circuit is implemented in terms of operating principle and component selection. Aiming at the heat dissipation requirement of GaN power amplifier chip, the assembly process of low voidage and the machining process of high flatness and low roughness are selected to further reduce the contact thermal resistance, and the thermal simulation design is carried out. Compared with traditional T/R modules, the T/R module’s working bandwidth is 4 GHz, the transmitting output power is greater than 41.6 dBm, the receiving power gain is greater than 23.8 dB, and the size is 100 mm×65 mm×10 mm. The development of the T/R module has played a significant role in promoting the advancement of active phased array radar systems in the SC band.
