Design of Dual-Polarized Electrically Reconfigurable Antenna Based on Balanced Feed Structure
A dual-polarized electrically reconfigurable antenna based on a balanced feed structure (BFS) is presented in this paper. The antenna elements and array structure are composed of, from top to bottom, the parasitic patch layer, the electrically tunable feeding network layer, and the electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure layer. The designed antenna operates over a bandwidth of 2.9-3.5 GHz, and the array antenna comprises a linear array of eight antenna elements, with beam scanning coverage of ± 40°. The gain range of the wave-sweeping scan varies from 11 to 17.5 dBi across the entire operating frequency band.
