Low-Profile, High-Gain, Wide-Angle, High-Resolution Electrically Addressable Folded Array Antenna

This paper presents an electrically addressable, low-profile antenna designed for the 5G FR1 frequency band. The proposed antenna comprises an active phase-shifting layer, a polarization-selective grating layer, and a planar feed source, with an absolute effective bandwidth exceeding 0.2 GHz. Simulation results indicate that the array antenna facilitates real-time, reconfigurable, high-gain, wide-angle scanning and high-precision, low-sidelobe beamforming within a three-dimensional field of view, spanning an elevation range of 0° to 72° and an azimuth range of 0° to 360°. This study proposes a cost-effective, high-performance, and compact antenna solution to meet the advanced requirements of next-generation wireless communication systems in the context of the Internet of Everything and digital twin technology.
