Design of Multi User Dual Function Radar-Communication System Based on Direction Modulation

Dual functional radar-communication integrated systems can enable effective utilization of hardware and spectrum resources. In response to the challenges of scarce spectrum resources and the need for hardware integration, this paper proposes a joint waveform design method for multi-user dual functional radar-communication (DFRC) systems based on directional modulation (DM). By introducing multi-user interference (MUI) energy constraints, a non-convex optimization problem is formulated, and an alternating iterative algorithm is proposed to optimize the waveform. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method ensures radar detection performance while significantly enhancing multi-user communication capabilities compared to traditional spatial division multiplexing techniques.
