A New Compact Microstrip UWB Power Divider with Quad Notched Bands

A new compact ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip power divider (MPD) with quad-notched bands using quad-mode resonator (QMR) is proposed in this paper. The resonant characteristics of the proposed QMR are analyzed, and the result shows that the introduction of quad notched bands has better performance. The proposed QMR is subsequently implemented to achieve four distinct notched bands. To validate the theoretical framework, a novel UWB MPD with quad-notched bands is designed and experimentally evaluated. The notched bands are specifically centered at $5.2 \mathrm{GHz}, 5.8 \mathrm{GHz}, 7.0 \mathrm{GHz}$, and 8.0 GHz. A comparison between the measured data and theoretical predictions reveals good agreement. Experimental results indicate that the proposed UWB bandpass filter exhibits an ultra-wide bandwidth from 1.7 GHz to 11.9 GHz while effectively avoiding interference from WLAN, RFID, and SCS frequency bands.
