Filtering Power Dividers Based on Dual-Orthogonal-Ridged Dielectric Waveguide Resonators

This paper presents filtering power dividers (FPDs) by utilizing the dual-orthogonal-ridged (DOR) dielectric waveguide resonators (DWRs), which ones the merits of compact size, low loss and far harmonics. The presented FPDs are realized by combining one bandpass filter (BPF) with one Wilkinson power divider (WPD). The BPF is designed based on the DOR DWRs, while the WPD is realized on the printed circuit board (PCB), which is also used for the feeding structures. Two fourth-order FPDs are designed, simulated and measured, one with the Chebyshev response and the other with the quasi-elliptic response. The measured results are in good accordance with the simulated ones, showing that the designed FPDs feature miniaturized volume, low insertion loss, wide upper stopband, and high isolation.
