Design of SIW Endfire Antenna Phased Array with Interpolating Element for Grating-Lobe Suppression in 300-GHz Band
An SIW endfire antenna phased array with interpolating element was designed in 300-GHz band. Closely feed spacing is limited by the size of the feeding circuit. The interpolating element is excited by coupling from the feeding elements. Consequently, radio waves are radiated both from the feeding and interpolating elements. This led to suppressing the grating-lobes although the spacing between the feeding elements was larger than one wavelength in free space. The effectiveness of the proposed phased array technique was verified through simulation.
