RFID-Enabled IoT Smart Shopping Cart for Automated Billing and Enhanced Retail Experience

The IoT-Based Smart Shopping Cart integrates RFID, NodeMCU and IoT technologies to transform the retail shopping experience. The system incorporates an automated billing mechanism, where RFID readers embedded in the cart detect RFID-tagged products in real-time. Traditional shopping methods, which often involve manual cart management, barcode scanning, and long billing queues, are time-consuming and inefficient. The Smart IoT-based Shopping Cart proposed in this paper is an innovative solution integrated with RFID technology is designed to improve the shopping experience that uses Arduino, and IoT capabilities. This work aims to address common issues faced by shoppers, such as long queues for billing, difficulty in locating products, and inefficiencies in traditional shopping methods. The smart cart provides an interactive and user-friendly experience. The major achievements of the work are Development of an Automated Smart Cart System that automates product detection, cart management, and billing. A Cloud-Based Billing and Payment System where the cart Connects to a Flask-based server Where the Customers can view and manage their cart via a mobile-friendly web application Enhanced Store Navigation and Customer Experience. Developed a shop map layout feature, enabling customers to locate products efficiently.
