Performance Analysis of Millimeter Wave Networks Based on Average Weighted Pathloss
In millimeter wave networks where base stations (BS) are densely deployed, obstacles such as buildings, trees and people in the environment may all affect the signal quality between BSs and users. Considering the blockage effect of millimeter wave, characterizing the line-of-sight (LOS) and nonline-of-sight (NLOS) link states of BSs is crucial for analyzing the performance of millimeter wave networks. This paper establishes an analysis model of average weighted pathloss. According to the distance distribution between the user and the surrounding BSs, the corresponding weights are assigned to define the BS pathloss, and the performance evaluation method of average data rate is given. Furthermore, the influences of LOS and NLOS transmission, Nakagami fading and directional beamforming in millimeter wave networks are comprehensively considered to analyze the data transmission performance of users in both stationary and mobile states. Through Monte Carlo simulation analysis, the theoretical and simulation analysis accuracy of using the average weighted pathloss model is verified, and the average data rate results of different pathloss models are compared.
