PECULIARITIES OF USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF FIXED PROSTHODONTIC RESTORATIONS DEPENDING ON THE MANUFACTURING MATERIAL IN THE COURSE OF COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL REHABILITATION

Aim. Based on the analysis of current scientific literature, this study aims to evaluate the potential use of various types of fixed prosthodontic restorations depending on the manufacturing material during comprehensive dental rehabilitation. Materials and methods. A systematic review of publications selected from leading international scientometric databases was conducted. Bibliographic and analytical research methods were applied in the study. Results. There is a growing trend in the use of digital technologies in general, and intraoral scanning in particular, in clinical dental practice and during prosthodontic rehabilitation of dental patients. The increasing integration of digital dentistry into treatment processes is also associated with changes in the demand for different types of prosthodontic restorations. There is a notable prevalence of all-ceramic and monolithic zirconia restorations in clinics where digital technologies are implemented at the stages of diagnosis, treatment, and crown fabrication. At the same time, there is a parallel decline in the demand for restorations produced using analog methods involving manual work by dental technicians. Analysis of both domestic and foreign literature indicates that despite the achieved advancement, prosthetic treatment using intraoral scanning technologies still requires further study and improvement. Conclusions. Considering the above facts, it can be stated that the literature still lacks a clear differentiation in the frequency of the use of fixed prosthodontic restorations made from different materials. According to domestic studies, metal-ceramic restorations remain the most commonly used, while international studies show a preference for all-ceramic and monolithic zirconia restorations.
