Calidad de vida relacionada con la salud en adultos mayores del Cantón Cañar, periodo septiembre 2019- febrero 2020
Introduction: Quality of life in older adults is understood as a combination of physical, social, and emotional factors that allow individuals to maintain a sense of well-being and control over their environment. This includes the ability to engage in meaningful activities, maintain social relationships, enjoy good health, and have resources to meet basic needs, which in turn generates life satisfaction and a positive perception of aging. Objective: To determine the quality of life linked to health status in older adults. Materials and methods: The study was conducted with a descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional, prospective design based on a quantitative approach. The study included a total of 185 older adults. They were selected through the registry of the Cañar canton health care center and agreed to participate by signing an informed consent form. The data collected was processed using SPSS statistical software. Results: 67% of participants reported a moderately favorable quality of life, while 86.5% had a low socioeconomic status. The level of dependency was moderate at 45.4%, and the emotional state was mildly depressed at 48.6%. Conclusion: After analyzing and interpreting the survey, it was concluded that there is a lack of emotional and economic support in this population
