Metal-Enabled Electrophotocatalysis Oxidative Coupling with Hydrogen Evolution
Abstract Electrophotocatalysis (EPC), a developing scientific discipline, has emerged at the intersection of two highly active fields. By integrating photocatalytic, electrocatalytic, and transition-metal-catalyzed processes via a single-electron transfer (SET) mechanism, the EPC approach enables efficient, selective, and sustainable synthetic transformations. Herein, we summarize recent advances in metal-enabled EPC oxidative coupling reactions. Although still in its early stages, this synergistic catalytic pattern demonstrates remarkable potential for advancing organic synthesis methodologies, particularly offering promising applications in diverse late-stage functionalization strategies.
