Variability studies of the LHAASO triggered flares in blazar 1ES 1959+650
After the real-time monitoring system based on LHAASO-WCDA was established at the end of 2023, a few flaring events from active galactic nuclei at Teraelectronvolt (TeV) energies have been triggered. The first event from blazar 1ES 1959+650, so-called “Dragon flare”, was triggered on February 9th, 2024, the eve of the Year of the Dragon. Another flaring event from 1ES 1959+650 was triggered about 40 days later, with relative lower luminosity. Detail analysis at multi-wavelength was carried in this work. We report a rare and significant time delay of approximately 6.6 days between the TeV and GeV emissions during the second triggered flaring event, suggesting an acceleration process within the jet.
