High-performance photonic computing platform
Time-resolved photoemission electron microscopy (TR-PEEM), with its nano-femto spatiotemporal resolution, enables detailed investigations in nanophotonics and surface physics. In this talk, we present recent progress in visualizing optical near-field modes in both metallic and dielectric nanostructures using PEEM. Our work includes the imaging of near-field vortex modes supported by hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), ultra-confined dielectric modes in ZnO nanowire pairs, and hyperbolic plasmon polaritons in a novel van der Waals (vdW) material, MoOCl₂. These studies significantly broaden the scope of PEEM in nanophotonics and highlight its versatility in probing a wide range of near-field optical phenomena beyond conventional plasmonic systems.
