Clinical Outcomes and Safety Profile for Total Ankle Arthroplasty and Ankle Arthrodesis for Symptomatic Ankle Arthritis: A Systematic Review
Both TAA and AA are safe and effective surgical treatments for ankle arthritis. Among the data gathered in this systematic review, TAA had notable lower total complications, implant removals, adjacent level fusion surgeries, and nonunion/open reduction and internal fixation surgeries after the index procedure. It is hoped that these data help physicians plan treatment for patients with symptomatic ankle arthritis and contribute to evidence-based guidelines.
