Dimensional Analysis of 3D Printed Structural Members Using PC-ABS with the Stratasys F370 Printer

In additive manufacturing, Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is increasingly being used to produce func-tional structural parts, especially with high-performance ther-moplastics like polycarbonate-acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC-ABS).This research examines the dimensional accuracy of 3D printed structural members made with PC-ABS material on a Stratasys F370 printer with emphasis on key process parameters like layer thickness, infill density, and print ori-entation.Based on experimental approaches and optimization structures, such as the Taguchi method and analysis of variance (ANOVA), this study analyzes how every parameter affects part geometry deviations. The findings show that build orientation and layer thickness have a considerable impact on dimensional accuracy, with smaller layer heights producing tighter tolerances. The F370's chambered environment and thermal management system are instrumental in reducing warpage and shrinkage, which improves repeatability for structural uses. This research adds to the general knowledge of dimensional control in polymer-based additive manufacturing and provides a validated route for optimizing print parameters in structural engineering applications.
