AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON GEN Z'S AWARENESS OF MUTUAL FUNDS IN ANAND DISTRICT
Mutual funds have become a favourite investment tool for investors looking for diversified and professionally managed financial portfolios. This research delves into the investment habits of GenZ towards mutual funds, examining their knowledge, difficulties, determinants, and prospective investment plans. A systematic survey of 100 GenZ investors (18-28 years old) was administered to evaluate their attitude and hurdles toward mutual fund use. The results show that 71% of the respondents know about mutual funds, but most are unwilling to invest because of insufficient knowledge (34%) and perceived risks (25%). Although 69% have invested in mutual funds, fear of market volatility and lack of proper advice are major deterrents. The research also points to the influence of income levels, financial literacy, and peer pressure in investment choices. Some of the main suggestions are improving financial literacy on digital platforms, increasing accessibility through fintech-based solutions, and encouraging risk-reducing investment patterns. With these impediments addressed, financial institutions and policy makers can foster increased participation by GenZ in mutual fund investment, leading to long-term financial stability and market development.
