INFLUENCE OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS ON THE DESIRE TO CHANGE PROFESSION
The aim of this article is to identify and analyze the set of socio-economic and psychological factors determining respondents’ readiness to change their profession in modern conditions. The research methodology is based on a combination of quantitative analysis of survey data and qualitative interpretation of the revealed interrelations, including the assessment of satisfaction with education, career, income level, as well as the role of psychological determinants such as the realization of a “childhood dream” and interpersonal relationships in the workplace. The study results show that readiness for professional changes is characteristic of 34,4% of the sample, with the highest level of inclination to change profession recorded among respondents under the age of 25. Financial factors demonstrate a direct impact on decision-making; however, they are not the only determinants: value orientations and subjective perceptions of the desired activity play a significant role. The findings confirm that the combined influence of socio-economic and psychological factors determines the individual trajectory of professional choice, and a high level of dissatisfaction with current activities can serve as a key source of anxiety.
