Next Generation high speed network using Visible light Communication
This work proposes an efficient highspeed network based on visible light communication (VLC) system. Here, multimode fiber is used to transmit baseband signal up to 4 km from central station to cloud VLC access point. Then, these access point transmits the high data rate optical signal of about 10 Gbps to well design smart home system using free space optical (FSO) link. The use of nonreturn to zero encoding and low-density parity check (LDPC) codes at the transmitting end makes this system to efficiently transmit error free data over a range of 50 meter from cloud access point to smart home network, which is better over existing systems in literature. To check the system performance of FSO channel different background noises are considered. At the receiving end maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) equalizer and lowpass filter addresses the losses due to background noises. The simulation results clearly demonstrate the exceptional performance by achieving nearly zero-bit error rate (BER) for the proposed cloud based VLC system over wider range even in presence of background noises.
