Towards Beyond Technology: Reviewing Human Error (HE) as the Primary Reason of Cyber Security Breaches

Growth of cyber criminals, the severity of cyberattacks, and their effects are rising along with reliance on computer network solutions and information technology. A fundamental weakness in cybersecurity is Human Error (HE), which causes most breaches in many different fields. HE includes bad judgments, memory lapses, and rule violations still leave organizations exposed even with improved security solutions for instance encryption and automated threat detection. This paper combines modern studies on the kinds, causes, and effects of human resources in cybersecurity incidents. The study, which also categorizes the errors into several categories, investigates many related elements like cognitive stress, lack of training, and vulnerability to social engineering. The study also draws attention to creative mitigation techniques meant to lower security events including people, their organizational consequences, and behavioral patterns. By examining significant trends and gaps in prior studies, this paper underlines the need of integrated human-centered approaches for developing cybersecurity resilience.
