Enhancing Tourism Applications with User-Centered Design and Usability Testing Interface and Experience Study
The limited and unappealing visualization of potential tourist destinations necessitates an innovative technological solution to enhance their promotion and cultural preservation. This study addresses this challenge by developing and evaluating a tourism application, focusing on the crucial components of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX). Employing the User-Centered Design (UCD) method, the research systematically proceeded through understanding the context of use, specifying user requirements, designing solutions, and evaluating against requirements. Usability testing, a critical aspect of this evaluation, was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire to assess the application’s ease of use and user satisfaction. The findings demonstrate that the UI/UX design, meticulously aligned with user needs and interests, achieved an average SUS score of 80%, corresponding to an adjective rating of "Good" and a grade of "B". These results confirm the successful implementation of the UCD approach in creating a highly usable and well-accepted tourism application, providing a foundation for future research into alternative usability evaluation techniques.
