Blockchain’s Impact on Supply Chain Integration, Resilience, and Performance

In an increasingly interconnected and digital global economy, the imperative for more efficient, transparent, and resilient supply chains has never been greater. This study investigates the impact of Blockchain’s operational capabilities on supply chain management, with a specific focus on its relationship with supply chain integration, resilience, and performance. Through a systematic literature review of academic publications from 2018 to 2024, this research synthesizes evidence on these core constructs. The findings reveal that Blockchain significantly enhances transparency, traceability, and trust, thereby improving overall performance and resilience, especially in industries with high operational complexity. The technology’s ability to automate processes and provide real-time data fosters superior coordination, while its synergistic effect with integration improves operational responsiveness. This research culminates in a proposed conceptual framework that elucidates the relationships between Blockchain capabilities, integration, resilience, and performance. This framework not only provides a robust foundation for subsequent empirical studies but also highlights the critical need to address challenges such as technological readiness and scalability to fully realize Blockchain’s transformative potential in supply chain management.
