Optimization of Swipt Using Simplified Beamforming
The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has created an urgent need for sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for sensor networks. Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) has emerged as a promising approach to simultaneously harvesting energy and transmitting information using the same radio frequency (RF) signal. Integrating SWIPT with beamforming techniques can significantly improve energy efficiency and data transmission in IoT applications. This study explores the combination of Time-Switching (TS) and Power-Splitting (PS) protocols with adaptive beamforming to address key challenges such as interference, environmental variability, and optimal resource utilization. A novel algorithm is proposed to optimize beamforming vectors and time allocation based on Channel State Information (CSI) and energy requirements. The simulation results demonstrate that energy efficiency and fairness are ensured so that all devices meet their energy demands while maintaining reliable data transmission. This research underscores the potential of simple beamforming for energy harvesting in IoT networks. Future work could focus on distributed system designs and advanced optimization strategies to improve scalability and reduce computational complexity, paving the way for more sustainable and efficient IoT deployments.
