Exploring User Experience and Absorptive Capacity in Minimalism Mobile Application Design: A Preliminary Study

This preliminary study explores key variables influencing user experience and absorptive capacity in mobile application interfaces. Previous studies emphasize user experience; however, little is known about how absorptive capacity and minimalist design might enhance usability. Using a qualitative exploratory design, small-scale interviews were conducted with three participants to gather early insights. Findings from the interviews showed that users generally responded positively to the dimensions of user experience, especially ease of use, navigation, and error prevention. Minimalism received neutral responses, as some users liked the simplicity while others felt it was too plain. Feedback on absorptive capacity was mixed, suggesting that users had different levels of understanding and ability to process application content. These results helped confirm that the study’s variables are relevant and can be used for further research involving a larger sample and deeper analysis.
