Hybrid-Modulated Moving-Discretized-Control-Set Model-Free Predictive Control for DAB Converters

When applying conventional moving-discretized-control-set model predictive control (MDCS-MPC), the voltage performance of dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter is affected by the number of the MDCS and the parameter errors. The former affects the dynamic performance of the MDCS-MPC, while the latter affects the robustness of the MDCS-MPC. To enhance the dynamic performance and robustness of conventional MDCS-MPC, this article proposes a hybrid-modulated moving-discretized-control-set model-free predictive control (HM-MDCS-MFPC) for DAB converters, where the proposed HM-MDCS-MFPC not only establishes and updates the data model of DAB for replacing the conventional mathematical model, but also designs a hybrid-modulated control set for boosting the regulation range of control set. The proposed HM-MDCS-MFPC effectively eliminates parametric effects under parametric fluctuation and enhances dynamic performance under various operating conditions. The simulations and experiments of DAB converter are conducted to validate the feasibility and performance of the proposed HM-MDCS-MFPC.
