Artificial Intelligence in Green Supply Chain Management: a Literature Review
As environmental concerns grow, particularly global warming, companies are facing increasing pressure to rethink the way they manage their supply chains (SC). Green supply chain management (GSCM) stands out as a solution, aiming to reduce the ecological impact of SC activities. However, the effective implementation of GSCM practices requires advanced technologies, notably, Artificial Intelligence (AI), which offers powerful tools to support the transition toward greener supply chains. This study aims to explore the role of AI in enhancing the adoption and effectiveness of GSCM practices. Initially, a theoretical background of both GSCM and AI is presented. Then, green supply chain practices (GSCP) are identified, and the role of AI in improving these practices is examined, with a focus on four key practices : green procurement, green production, green logistics, and recycling. Our key findings provide researchers and practitioners with a clear and structured insights into how AI can be leveraged to drive sustainable transformation across the supply chain.
